Every second eyes of the world are at India, an economy, which is growing at a great pace and has a great potential. And the automotive being one of the fastest growing industry, is on the focus of all the auto biggies. First half of the year 2012 has been a tremendous one for the Indian auto industry; we have witnessed a number of big launches, for which we all were waiting that included Maruti Suzuki's Ertiga, Toyota Corolla Altis Aero, Chevrolet Captiva, Audi Q3, Audi S4 and last but not the least Renault Duster.
Take a sneak peak at the top 5 upcoming cars, which have the potential to change the game.
Ford EcoSport
The first on our list is the Ford EcoSport, which was unveiled at this year's Auto Expo held in New Delhi. It became an instant hit then and there. Since then everybody is waiting for its launch. Our sources confirm that the launch would take place either by end of this year or the early next year. The coming ford EcoSport is a four meter long crossover and will be powered by the award-winning 1.0 EcoBoost engine. Having a price tag between Rs 7-9 lakh, it will be closely competing with the recently launched compact SUV, Renault Duster.
Maruti Suzuki Alto 800
Seeing the rising competition in the budget car segment, India's largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) is all set to launch the Alto 800, which has been said to be a replacement of the company's fate turner, Maruti Suzuki 800. CarDekho was the first in the Industry which unveiled the first pictures of the Alto 800 and seeing the pictures, one can understand that, it has got bigger this time in and out. The looks are inspired from the existing Alto and the Ritz, but still it manages to look different and refresh. Having a price tag of Rs 2.5 to 3.0 Lakh, it will surely be able to CHANGE THE GAME. The Alto 800 will be launched during the festive season. CarDekho keeps it at number 2 on our list of game changing cars.
Nissan Evalia
Nissan Evalia is at number three on our list, which has got the potential to change the game of the utility vehicle segment of India. We have seen the refreshed versions of Mahindra Xylo, Toyota Innova and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga this year, which are doing really well. Next on the cards is the Evalia, which will share the similar 1.5-litre dCi engine that currently powers the Sunny, Micra and the Fluence. Producing the maximum of 85bhp, it is as powerful as the Ertiga, whereas in spaciousness, it is as big as the Innova, so it is to compete with the most utility vehicles available in the market. It is expected to launch either by August or September.
Chevrolet Sail Twins
Next on our list is the Sail brand, which will enter India by September or October. The sail will be coming in both the Hatchback and Sedan versions, and will replace the existing Aveo U-VA hatch and notchback. Although, nothing has been said officially on the pricing, but the sail hatchback is expected to be priced between Rs 4.0 and 5.5 lakh, whereas the sedan will be priced between Rs 6-7.5 lakh.
Mini Xylo
It seems as if Mahindra & Mahindra wants all its fingers in butter, the madness for Mahindra XUV500 has not even come down, and Mahindra is ready with the all new sub 4-meter Mini Xylo to make its presence in the mini MPV segment as well, which is growing at a great pace. Although, the facelift version of Mahindra Xylo was launched back in the February, this year only, the Xylo mini having a lesser price than that of the current version, has got everything in it to be the next family car. It will be competing with the likes of Ford Ecosport and Renault Duster. The launch will take place during the festive season, Diwali. We have positioned it at No. 5 on our list.
