Fiat held Press Conference in Mumbai; no 2013 Punto and Linea

Proving all the speculations wrong about the launch of 2013 Punto and Linea, Fiat didn't reveal anything about these cars at the press conference held in Mumbai. The company announced its future strategy for the Indian automotive industry. Earlier, it was speculated that on 10th April, Fiat will launch its 2013 Punto and Linea in India, but company has something else for India. The Italian auto-major has formally opened the National Sales Company (NSC) as an independent entity under the Fiat Chrysler India. This has been the complete ending of its agreement with the Tata Motors for the distribution of Fiat Cars.
At the press conference, Fiat announced some of its plans and offers exciting packages with its products in India. The company will now offer a 3 year/100,000 kms standard warranty with an optional 2 years/150,000 kms extended package. On call car services will also be introduced across its dealerships. The auto-giant also kickstarts a dedicated 30 members 24x7 customer service centre.
Since the end of Tata Motors and Fiat venture, the company has opened 52 independent dealership network across India, and 16 more will be launched in the very near future. The new dealerships consist of equally proposition of newly appointed dealers and older ones who continued with Fiat products after splitting with Tata Motors. Fiat India also facilitate a new 60,000 sq. ft. spare parts warehouse has been made operational.
Tata Motors will continue to offer after sales service to Fiat, where company has yet to open a new dealerships. However, Fiat India said that it will open 100 per cent individual outlets by the year end. The company aims to open at-least single outlet in each of the top 20 major cities.
In order to revive its lost market shares, Fiat motors will launch the Chrysler range of SUVs and Jeep brand in India. A mini-SUV is also expected by 2015, but the company hasn't shared much details about its future products. More interestingly, company will start a new 360 degree marketing campaign on TV, Digital and Social Media, print and magazine etc.
