Italian car manufacturer Fiat has showcased a more elaborate image of its upcoming hot head, the Abarth 595 Competizione. Fiat India’s official web page now has a better demonstration of this ‘coming soon’ car.
The page features a short film with a brief introduction of Karl Abarth, the founder of this performance house. This gentleman started off as a mechanic, went into winning motorcycle race when he accidentally got the chance following a racer’s absence. He tuned numerous cars and made Abarth performance kits that were very popular among buyers, as one can use them in their factory car right away to make them considerably fast. He was quite a clever man as he put low budget racing dreams, a reality back in those days.
Fiat's website also features more elaborate picture gallery with both exterior and interior images. Abarth 595 Competizione carries the legend of the original car with its quirky Italian chic design, round retro headlamps and tail light cluster with the dash of chrome. One of the interior pictures also shows the 5-speed manual transmission that might come as an option, if Fiat is generous towards manual lovers. But, if you are an undercover RAW agent, don’t look to buy one because it's an eyeball magnet, contradictory to your forte.
Then there is the dimensional chart with numbers that show how compact a 150bhp+ car could be. 595 Competizione is only 3657 mm long, 1893 mm wide and 1485 mm tall, hmm, Elite i20 is 328 mm longer and 20 mm taller, if not wider as it falls short of 159 mm when comparing the width.
Looking at the exclusivity of this vehicle, Fiat is currently listing only 4 major cities with their respective dealership that will initially get the 595 for retail. The list includes Kashyap Vehicle Works Pvt Ltd in New Delhi, Kolkata-Austin Fiat, Bangalore-KHT Fiat and Chennai-RDC.
