Force Motors coming with new SUV next year

Pune based Force Motors are planning to soon join the mainstream Indian auto market. The car makers are developing an all new SUV as an entry level vehicle in the ever increasing SUV segment.
It being speculated that, the strategical shift of the Pune based car manufacturer to manufacture the SUV is the result of the growth of the Indian auto industry that it has witnessed this year. Force Motors, established in 1958, were into manufacturing of vehicles for the semi-urban and rural market till they moved their focus towards main stream auto industry.
As per the car makers, the company hopes to do well and is optimistic to fetch the same result which Mahindra Scorpio did for Mahindra & Mahindra.
Force Motors first mainstream product which will be its flagship model too is being made very carefully. The company is making sure to perfectly craft the car for the Indian auto market. The Pune based car maker has hired engineers from abroad to develop the latest technology. British Firm, Lotus Engineering, a renowned name in the auto industry has been roped to take care of the handling and riding part of the SUV. The SUV is expected to be launched in next year.
The new SUV is anticipated to come with 2.2 litre engine which is expected to be manufactured with license from Daimler. It will generate 220 bhp power which is sure to give the passengers a power ride. The engineers from abroad are also looking at reducing NVH levels. Prasan Firodia, MD, Force Motors said that, the technology and the power the new SUV is coming with will be the best among the others in the run. The all new SUV will use C-in-C chassis which has been especially made and designed by the experts from the company. He also said that, the company is excited and happy with the performance which is being shown by the forerunners.
It is speculated that Force Motors are planning to manufacture the all new SUV at the Pithampur facility. Almost Rs 150 crore has already been invested in the new car. The capacity of the production unit is of 24,000 units yearly. Force Motors has also set up the R&D centres, manufacturing units, sales and marketing for the new SUV.
