After the enhancement of dealership network the Ford India will have 164 dealerships in total located across 97 cities in India. The number of cities with a Ford outlet has increased by more than 30 percent in last two years. Among these 28 new outlets of Ford India, 14 will offer full 3S (Showroom, Sales and Service) facilities, while seven facilities will be service workshops providing a full line of mechanical services. The remaining seven new outlets are sales showrooms which has a full line-up of Ford vehicles.
As the competition among automakers is no longer confined to big cities, the Ford India is aggressively planning to reach the customers in tier II and tier III cities particularly for its Ford Figo model. Growing our dealership base, building strong business fundamentals and getting closer to our customers are areas of high priority as we gear up to launch our new Figo and enter this high volume segment in 2010,'' said Michael Boneham, president and managing director, Ford India.
The cities which come in to segment of tier II and III cities are significant for Ford. The company has opened new facilities in 13 Tier III cities today, and more than 40 percent of Ford service outlets are now located in secondary markets, Mr Boneham Added. All Ford dealership facilities are committed to offer after-sales support and service which is customer-friendly as well as efficient. Besides this the Ford India outlets are also offering various packages, including total maintenance, extended warranty, roadside assistance and scheduled service plans. Placing dealerships in close proximity to city centers – where they are conveniently located for customers – has been a core focus area for Ford as the company continues to broaden its product portfolio.
