There have been reports lately suggesting that Chevrolet is going to bring new Chevrolet Captiva in India so as to offer new, appealing luxury SUV in India. However, things seems to have changed a little as following unimpressive sales, GM India might rethink of introducing new Captiva in India. As per reports Chevrolet Captiva sales are as low as 150 units per month. Chevrolet Captiva price ranges between Rs 18 lakh to Rs 19.9 lakh and it encompasses luxury SUVs including Mitsubishi Pajero, Mitsubishi Outlander, Toyota Fortuner, BMW X1, and Ford Endeavor as its rivals.

The new Captiva that was displayed at the Paris Motor show has new reworked front and a variety of touches to the interiors. The engine and transmission were also reworked to make it more powerful and stunning. Despite new features and new looks, the new Chevrolet Captiva is not expected to be in India in the near future. A recent report suggests that General Motors is not in a mood to introduce the SUV this year. Reason that was quoted is the existing gap between high demand and supply of Captiva. GM India has reportedly expressed that the company will first meet the demand for the existing Captiva and it has no plans to launch new Chevrolet Captiva this year. Also, the reason thus quoted was the GM will focus on volumes. The volume pullers cars by GM are Chevrolet Beat, the recently launched Chevrolet Beat Diesel besides Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Tavera.
