GM India last year witnessed total sales of 1.1 Lakh units in India and now this year it’s keeping its expectations high and wish to touch the mark of 1.4 Lakh. General Motors India is also aspiring to double its market share in India too. Automotive business currently is under excessive pressure due to the sluggish growth witnessed so fr in the domestic market. Last year, the Indian Auto Market saw a growth of 30% but sadly this growth rate tumbled to 12-16% this year all thanks to sky rocketing fuel prices and hiked interest rates. Recently, General Motors launched small car, Chevrolet Beat diesel, with a price ranging from Rs. 4.37 to Rs. 5.55 Lakh. So far this small car has received pretty impressive reviews and hopefully this car will rejuvenate the car sales of General Motors India.
