The most powerful car from General Motors- 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 can now be yours for ‘only’ $78,995 (INR 47,74,457.80) while for the convertible model you need to pay $83,995 (INR 50,76,657.80), as per the current forex rates. Powered by 6.2-litre, LT4 V-8 supercharged engine, the car musters a power of 650bhp with peak torque of 881Nm. First showcased at the last year’s North American International Auto Show, the car propels more horse powers than Lamborghini Huracan, McLaren 650S and SRT Viper. While in terms of pricing, the Chevy is less expensive than Porsche 911 Carrera S, Jaguar F-Type R and Dodge SRT Viper
Harlan Charles, Corvette product and marketing manager, said, "Very few cars in the world deliver 650 horsepower, true aerodynamic downforce, carbon fiber and performance technologies such as Magnetic Ride Control, Performance Traction Management and an electronic limited slip differential - and none gives the driver a transmission choice or the choice of a coupe with a removable roof panel or a full-power-top convertible."
Digging deep into the mechanical specification, the Chevy Corvette Z06 gets direct-injection, cylinder deactivation, and the variable valve timing technologies. The tremendous power comes from the tougher cylinder heads, lighter titanium intake valves, special aluminum pistons and of course the 1.7-litre supercharger with an ability to spin up to 20,000 rpm. The engine delivers power to its rear wheels via seven-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters.
The Z06 not only offers on-demand power supply at any required rpm but also churns more torques than the previous Corvettes. The Z06 stands amongst world's most powerful production cars. The data released by the engine, is a brief infographic showing the mark of General Motors in the Ferrari and Lamborghini dominated fastest cars list. The first three cars in this list: LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder are limited-production hyper-hybrids.
