Delhi is going to be more secured now as the transportation department is going to make the high security registration plates compulsory for the new cars from May 1 and for those who already have a four wheeler the process will commence from June 15. The first vehicle to get high security registration plates is a Swift Dzire sedan . At present, there are only two HSRP centres, but the is not going to make the process long and the company has entrusted for affixing the secured number plates is Rosemerta HSRP Ventures. The company has been given 6 days to complete the procedure and failure to complete this task in the given period will result into penalty. In all Delhi will have 14 centres, one at each RTO, and the other centers will become ready within the next fortnight.
The one who have bought new vehicles will have to go to the local RTO to get the registration plate. The Motor Licensing officer will issue the approval slip to the car owner who will then go the HSRP center and pay the required amount to get the HSRR affixed. A particular date will be allotted for the installation of number plates and the vehicle owner will have to turn up on that data so as to get the number plate fixed. To make the procedure easy and fast, the department will prepare the plates in advance. For vehicles that are already allotted registration plates, the transport department will start the process of allotting new number plates from June 15. As per reports sufficient amount of time will be given to the owners to get the plates fixed. Delhi will have three years three years to completely switch over to the tamper proof plates.
