'Hero' of the movie 'Need For Speed' to go under Auction on April 12th

Aaron Paul's Mustang, the central character of “Need For Speed” to go under auction by Barrett Jackson at Palm Beach Auction on April 12th 2014. The specially customized 2014 Ford Mustang, exclusively done by Ford, is one of its kind a rare Mustang! The car was made on a special request by director Scott Waugh to Ford Motor Company, North America. The company will also display 2015 F-150 pickup truck, 2014 Shelby GT500, 2014 Fiesta ST and 2014 Focus ST at the auction.

The movie is jointly produced by DreamWorks Animation and Electronics Arts, which are also the game producers from which the movie is inspired. The movie will be released on March 14th 2014 in USA. The car will be in a leading role and will share similar screen time with some of the actors in the movie.

The specially modded vehicle is developed by Ford, it sports custom silver paint with twin Ford 'Kona Blue' strips. The car rides on 22 inch Forgiato alloy and sports a low profile wing mirror. The supercharged V8 sucking air from twin snorkels produce a whooping 900bhp on tap! The car also boosts custom wide bodied kit and bumper with angle eye fog lamps.

According to Ford North American Marketing Manager Steve Ling, “Director Scott Waugh challenged our team to give this central character enough personality and American masculinity to take on some of the world’s most exotic cars, just like in the popular Electronic Arts video game that inspired the movie”


The American Pony in the movie will compete against some of the world's famous super cars like Bugatti Veyron Super Sports World Record Edition, Koenigsegg Agera, Lamborghini Sesto Elemento and McLaren P1.

This auction will benefit the Henry Ford Health System, a non profit organization which works in improving the health and well being of the community. This was founded by Henry Ford himself in 1915.
