An auto repair and restoration shop owner from New Jersey, Zenop Tuncer has recently contacted Mercedes-Benz and the Merc Guys got surprised to know that the 1942 Mercedes 320 Cabriolet D, which he purchased via internet for one of his customers, was once custom made for Adolf Hitler. Zenop said, "As soon as I gave them the VIN number, there were a lot of calls from Mercedes: 'That's Hitler's car'."

Tuncer, who deals into classic cars, received a request from a real estate developer to buy a Mercedes-Benz 540K, while hunting, he could just get a 1942 Mercedes 320 Cabriolet D convertible, to which the customer got agreed later. Tuncer said that he thought the car as if military personnel must have owned it before. "The colour is a flat black, and there are patches covering what would have been a place for the flag post and the siren," he explained.

"It's definitely for a general," he said. There was found a small eagle on top of the Swastika (Symbol), which makes it believe as if the car was made for the Nazis. Tuncer contacted to Mercedes-Benz as the car wanted a little repair and a few parts were needed, and when he told them the serial number, the Merc guys asked him to look at the serial number once again, whether the car had an eagle with a Swastika.

Although, when the issue reached to a Mercedes Spokesperson, Adam Paige, he checked it with an expert at Mercedes, Germany, he said he wasn't sure of this particular car. But Mercedes-Benz had custom made eight vehicles for the Nazis. Speaking on this Daibes said, "Mercedes said, 'We did make some of these cars but only for Hitler' ,” The doubts are yet not clear, but an eagle with a Swastika sign next to it, somehow make it believe as if it was made for Nazis in the past, calling it a 'Hitler's car' still remains a mystery. We will update you on the same once it is announced officially.
