Like we reported you earlier that Honda Cars India has been planning to launch the CNG version of its popular sedan, the City in India, now some of our close sources have confirmed that finally it is happening, the CNG version will be launched by the end of the current month.

Honda has been working on the CNG version of the car for quite sometime now and possibly have made some changes in the current model, like the suspension has become more powerful as the CNG to be housed in the boot of the car. Moreover the engine too is likely to be tweaked and tuned in a way that it returns a good fuel economy, which is surely need of the hour. Changes in the instrument cluster too are expected in the city CNG.

If speculations are to believed, the CNG kit will be fitted by the dealers not by factory, exactly like the Hyundai India didsome days back, they also offered the CNG kits with three of their popular cars Santro Xing, i10 and the Accent, Hyundai as well came up with the similar dealer-end CNG-kit instalment scheme.

The price of the CNG variant might go up by Rs 50,000, rest we will update you once we hear from the Honda itself. Honda Cars India which has been facing a tough time due to unavailability of the diesel engine in their portfolio would also launch the Brio diesel by early next year, but as they say, something's better than nothing, so CNG variant would certainly help them do good during the festive season. On the other hand they are also launching the Brio automatic in the Navaratras.
