Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has today reported a growth of over three-fold in its domestic sales for January 2013 at 5,451 units. The company had sold a total 1,784 units in the same month last year, the company reports.
However no other products other than the company's flagship sedan City and the hatchback Brio could make a major impact, but it's a positive sign since the company doesn't have a diesel car at all. So we can expect a tremendous rise in the company's sales once the Honda Amaze hits the market, there will also be the new generation Honda CR-V in India on 12th February, however in petrol version only as of now.
Out of total sold units, the contribution of Honda City and Brio has been 2,898 and 2,336 units respectively, which means both accounts for over 96% sales of the company in January. Other vehicles of Honda that includes Jazz, Civic and Accord contributed the rest. The company also exported a total of 359 units in January 2013.
