Honda's premium hatchback 'Jazz' launched

Honda Siel on Wednesday launched its premium hatchback, Honda Jazz, in the national capital. The new car is available in three variants named as Basic Jazz, Jazz Mode and Jazz Active. The price tag is very much the same as expected. The Basic Jazz is priced Rs 6.98 lakh while Jazz Mode and Jazz Active are having the price tag of Rs 7.28 lakh and Rs 7.33 lakh respectively. Honda Jazz, compact car, is the most expensive than its counterparts in India. Skoda's Fabia is the most-expensive compact car at present, with a price tag of Rs 4.9 lakh on the petrol version and Rs 5.8 lakh on diesel. The premium hatchback is equipped with India-specific engine i.e. 1.2-litre SOHC iVTEC powerplant.  The new powertrain is a four - cylinder, 1198 cc engine featuring Programmed Fuel Injection delivering class - leading Power of 90 PS (66 kW) @ 6,200 rpm and Torque of 110 Nm (11.2 kg-m) @ 4800 rpm while giving impressive fuel economy of 16.1 km/l as per ARAI test data.
The Jazz Mode variant is the family utility version with body side mouldings, corner protectors to prevent parking scratches, mud flaps and funky lit-up garnishes on the side step. The top-end Jazz Active is the sporty variant of the hatch with sport pedals, body coloured front grille, fog lamps and a smart spoiler at the top of the tailgate. The 5-door compact car will be scaled up in phases with 70 per cent local contents. Honda is believed to offer the car with features like airbag, ABS (anti-lock braking system) and G-CON Technology (an advanced passive shielding that offers the occupant a survival zone in case of an unavoidable collision).
