Entire Hyundai India’s portfolio will receive a price hike in the range of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 25,000 effective January 2015
The Korean automaker has announced today that it will hike the prices of its entire range in the country starting from January 2015. Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) current range includes - Santro, EON, i10, Grand i10, Xcent, i20, Verna, Elantra, Santa-Fe and Sonata.
Commenting on the price hike, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. Vice President, Sales and Marketing said, “In these adverse market conditions, the price increase is necessitated on account of increase in input costs, high cost of imports due to higher rupee depreciation and high cost of sales. We have been absorbing most of the costs but are now constrained to consider price increase across all models in the range of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 25,000 which will be effective from Jan 2015”
Apart from this, the upcoming products from the Korean carmaker’s stable are - Verna’s midlife facelift, ix25 compact SUV, i20 ‘cross’ and EON is also reportedly getting a facelift next year. Verna is getting heavy alterations to its face and on the inside, its carrying over the dashboard design but will feature a new infotainment system. The i20 ‘Cross’ will join the growing hatch-turned-cross brigade and is coming with added goodies. The ix25, a brand new product debuted in China recently, will compete with Duster and EcoSport in India as its arch rivals.
