Are similarly priced variants of the Hyundai Venue a better option over the Creta’s? We find out
Hyundai has just launched the Venue and while it is the company’s first attempt at cracking the sub-4 metre SUV segment, it is not its first SUV. The Venue slots in below the Creta, but some of its variants are priced in the vicinity of the Creta’s. If you’re confused between buying one of these variants of these cars, we’ll clear the confusion by comparing them and finding out which one delivers better value in terms of features on offer at a similar price. To keep things fair, we will compare variants that are priced within Rs 50,000.
Basic Differences
Hyundai Venue |
Hyundai Creta |
Size: Venue is shorter in length and narrower than the Creta. |
Size: Creta is the bigger of the two SUVs. |
Automatic transmission with petrol engine only: Hyundai offers a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine on the Venue that is available with both manual and dual-clutch automatic transmission options. |
Automatic transmission with both petrol and diesel engines: While the Creta doesn’t come with a turbocharged petrol engine, it gets an automatic transmission with both petrol and diesel engines. In the Creta’s case, the automatic transmission is a torque converter type unit. |
Connected car tech: Hyundai offers the Venue with an eSIM which allows for internet connectivity inside the SUV. |
No eSIM: Hyundai does not offer the Creta with an eSIM. So there’s no internet inside the SUV. |
Rivals: Venue competes against the Vitara Brezza, XUV300, Nexon and EcoSport. |
Rivals: Creta competes against the Captur and Kicks. |
