After getting an overwhelming response at the 2013 Indonesia Motor Show, the Japanese automaker is trying everything to promote its all-new Mobilio MPV. Following the last month, the Mobilio MPV has been again put on display at a regional auto show in Makassar to get customer feedback. The Brio based MPV will go for the production in early 2014 at the company's production facility in West Java, Indonesia.
Honda Mobilio MPV will also come to India, and we expect it to be showcased at the next year's Auto Expo in Delhi. In Indonesia, the local deliveries for the vehicle will commence in February and the company has already bagged more than 4,500 pre-bookings. The major reason behind the customer preview of Mobilio is to take feedback from the probable customers. The company aims to get closer to its prospective consumers, especially in developing nations like India and Indonesia.
For Indonesian buyers, the Honda Mobilio MPV will be made available in three different variants - S, E and E CVT. Based on the Brio hatchback, the vehicle will only be made available in petrol version in Indonesia. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that also does duty to the Honda City. It will be available in both manual and automatic versions. In India, the Mobilio will be available in both petrol and diesel guise. While the diesel version will get the 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine, the petrol version will share its engine with Honda City.
In Indonesia, the vehicle will be priced in the range of 150 to 180 million Indonesian Rupiah (around Rs. 8.5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh). However, for Indian buyers it is expected to be tagged around Rs. 6.5 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh, and will compete against the likes of Chevrolet Enjoy, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Nissan Evalia and others.
