Kia Motors sales crosses 2 million mark in 2010

Marking a spectacular landmark, South Korea based Hyundai Group subsidiary, Kia Motors crossed the 2 million sales mark in the booming year 2010. Kia Motors with this big achievement has registered its name among fastest growing companies in the world of automobiles. The Hyundai group has managed to mark exponential growth in many different segments in the automobile industry which has resulted in this remarkable success.

If the figures of Global passenger sales are considered which encircles domestic, exports and overseas plant production along with the commercial vehicles and Rvs (Recreational Vehicles), it touched remarkable 2,089,355 units mark in year 2010.

Kia Motors is said to be running at a rate of 26.5 per cent as per the reports and moreover this is the first time that the company has witnessed a sales of 2 million units in just one year.

Kia Motors is been the topic of discussion among media journalist as they have reported the company to exhibit a 47.1 per cent increase on year-on-year bases. This year the company achieved this commendable YoY growth by making sales of 447,994 units. On considering the figures from Chinese market alone, the company flaunted a 38.3% YoY growth by selling 3,54,944 units, 18.5% YoY by selling 3,91,755 units in North America and 18.1 % YoY growth by selling 3,91,755 units, in Europe. Talking about the home growth, the company sold 484,512 units in Korea marking growth of 17.4% YoY basis.

Among the overseas portfolio of Kia Motors, Cerato C-segment also named as Forte was the best selling car by marking a total sales of 4,03,303 units. The B-segment Compact Utility Vehicle Kia Sportage and Kia Rio stood on the top three by selling 2, 07,922 and 2, 05,351 units respectively. The fourth position was grabbed by a mid sized CUV, Kia Sorento by marking sale of 1, 74,892 units whereas the fifth gainer Kia Soul cornered 135,407 units sales.

Addressing the proud announcement, the Vice President & COO, Kia Motors, Thomas Oh commented that the company is glad to register this commendable growth in the year 2010 despite of the fact that economy was recovering and further the company is aiming to maintain the same pace in coming year. He also said that company will maintain the same success story by following aggressive marketing techniques and making some new launch like Rio B-segment and next generation Picanto A-segment.
