The Kia Seltos will be launched on 22 August 2019. While it has been unveiled in the flesh last month as a near-production model, we got our first official look at the interior from Kia’s online configurator earlier this month. Pre-bookings for the Seltos are also underway and it will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti S-Cross, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster and Captur. With an expected price range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 16 lakh, the Kia Seltos will also be taking on the likes of the larger MG Hector and Tata Harrier.

Now, we have a fresh set of interior details of the upcoming Seltos compact SUV.
This image you see is the sportier GT Line variant of the Kia Seltos, which gets an all-black interior with silver highlights and gloss-black elements as on the dashboard layout. None of its segment rivals offer a sportier variant.
The Kia Seltos gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that comes with Kia’s UVO Connect with eSIM for connected car features. With this screen, the Seltos offers the largest unit in the compact SUV segment, second only to the MG Hector (10.4-inch) in the sub-20 lakh price bracket.
The Seltos features a 7-inch multi-information display in its instrument cluster between the analog rev and speedometer. Kia will also be offering it with a tyre-pressure monitoring system feature.
The Kia Seltos will also get an 8-inch heads-up digital display, a first for this segment in India. It will handily show the current speed and directional information from the navigation system to the driver without having to look away.
The GT Line gets red accents throughout the premium leatherette upholstery. The rear seat gets an adjustable headrest for all three occupants but the middle occupant misses out on a three-point seatbelt.
Kia has made the Seltos feel upmarket in nearly all details, from the cockpit design and interior materials to the dashboard layout and the red detailing all around in the GT-Line variant.
The Seltos will also feature various driving modes that adjust throttle and steering responsiveness in the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic variant. It can be controlled from the dial on the right of the gear selector.
Another segment first in the Kia Seltos will be the ‘Smart Air Purifier’ that detects dust particles in the air in real time and adjusts its functioning accordingly. It is also linked to the UVO Connect system. The readout for this is housed behind the front central armrest above the rear AC vents.
It also gets a 400W premium Bose sound system with multi-colour ambient lighting with the Music-sync feature. This is seen here with an off-white interior upholstery as glimpsed from the armrest on the driver door.

The Kia Seltos will be available with three engine options: 1.4-litre turbo-petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. While all three will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox, they each get their own type of automatic transmission. The turbo-petrol gets a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the petrol gets a CVT auto and the diesel gets a 6-speed automatic. Its 1.4-litre turbo-petrol produces 140PS of power, making the Seltos the most powerful offering in the compact SUV segment in India.
