The Indian Auto Industry is going through a very bad phase and auto-makers are facing a huge slowdown. Despite the bad market, Mahindra & Mahindra is one of the very few companies that has been receiving a good response, thanks to the fast growth in the UV segment where M&M has a strong presence.
Amidst this decent growth, M&M too is under pressure to maintain the same growth and market share. Apart from launching new cars to lure more customers such as Quanto and Rexton, the company is now aiming to expand its dealership network across the nation. The company wants to expand its dealerships even in remote areas like Kargil, Port Blair and Reckong Peo in Himachal Pradesh. The firm has recently opened its outlet for sales and services in the districts of Barmer and Jaisalmer.
We all know that most of the globally renowned carmakers want to improve their operations in this country. But this market is also a difficult one, where several things matter such as brand reliability and after sales service. These factors always play in the minds of buyers before they are going to buy any vehicle.
Many international brands have so far failed to establish themselves in the Indian auto industry despite excellent offerings due to lack of dealership network and after sales service across the nation. One can easily identify the major reason behind the success of India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India, which has strong dealership network along with exceptional after sales service. Most of the auto-makers have a strong foothold in metro cities, but recent times show that the sales of successful carmakers come from semi-urban and rural areas. So, this would be the best mantra for all the car manufacturers to start their proceedings in small cities and rural markets as well.
