The Indian auto giant, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd which has rolled out the much awaited compact SUV, the Quanto in India some days back, has received a good response all over. So to make it even larger, Mahindra is now planning to take the SUV to the Italian market, they have already launched the XUV500 on 24th September there.
Speaking about the same, M&M's chief executive-Automotive, Pravin Shah said, "In the next four to five months, we are planning to start exports of the vehicle to Europe and Italy is likely to be the first destination. The XUV 500 was launched in Rome on September 24 and will sell as Mahindra XUV in the Italian market. This would be followed by the Quanto."
commenting on the response that the all new Quanto has received, he said that the company has already made 3,200 bookings since its launch, which was in September third week. And as per the word on street, M&M is aiming to position the all new Quanto against Renault's latest compact SUV, the Duster in Europe.
"We are keen to promote the Mahindra brand in the overseas markets and all our offerings are named as Mahindra products. Only, the Scorpio sells under the name of Mahindra Goa in Europe as there is an already existing Ford model by that name", he further said.
