Mahindra & Mahindra that launched the all new Verito in India is now planning to launch the compact version of the vehicle, which will be sub 4-metre in length, so to compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Toyota Etios, Tata Indigo eCS and others. Our sources suggest that the vehicle will make its Indian debut in the first quarter of 2013, and having under 4-metre length, it will certainly be a cheaper version of the vehicle because of waiver in excise duty.
Mahindra doesn't have any smaller petrol engine at the moment, so we can expect the vehicle coming in diesel only, it will be the same Renault's 1.5-litre diesel engine that currently does it duty to the existing Verito. Our sources suggest that vehicle will be equally spacious as the existing variant, it's just the boot that will be reduced, so there will change in the rear design as well. The existing Verito is 4247mm in length with the boot area of 510-litre, so with the new Verito CS, it will be come down to approx 300-litres.
Stay tuned to CarDekho for more updates on the same. Cheers!
