Mahindra has showcased its SUV coupe concept, the XUV Aero, at the ongoing 2016 Indian Auto Expo, which is being held at Greater Noida. This concept has been designed by Mahindra and Mahindra’s in-house design team, which have also given us the likes of Scorpio, TUV300, XUV500 and the recently launched KUV100. This production-spec model incorporates Mahindra’s newly developed 210bhp mHawk powerplant, which help the XUV Aero concept accelerate from 0-60kmph in under 6 seconds. If and when launched, the car will be placed above the company’s flagship SUV, the XUV500. Mahindra has become the country’s first manufacturer to introduce a crossover SUV coupe for the mass-marketed SUV model.

XUV Aero

With the first glance, one can easily notice it's a 3-door SUV with suicide door styling. The extremely flared wheel arches, front as well as rear fenders -- screams of the utility vehicle from which this concept is derived. XUV Aero features a raked roofline, which is common with SUV coupes like the BMW X6 and GLE Coupe. Also, at the rear, XUV Aero features a large windscreen, three horizontally placed taillamps that are simultaneously reminiscent of both paw claws, as well as the iconic taillamp clusters seen on the recently revealed Ford Mustang.

Other styling accents at the back include - diffusers, which come with integrated twin exhausts and on the inside XUV Aero flaunts Mahindra’s connected technology. Similarly at the front, prominent and rather flashy styling cues continue.
