Tata Motors unknowingly actuated a revolution in the world of sedan cars with its sub 4-meter car Indigo CS that flaunts a shorter boot. Other car majors also followed the suit and the leading car maker Maruti Suzuki was the second one to launch the compact Dzire sedan with trimmed boot. Soon to be added to the list are two more compact sedans from Indian auto majors Tata Motors and Mahindra. Tata Motors is coming up with a smaller version of the Manza sedan and Mahindra is bringing out the Verito compact sedan.

Recently, the Mahindra Verito CS was caught undergoing test runs in Bangalore, India. The Mahindra Verito is actually a rebadged version of spacious and frugal Mahindra Logan. Verito is known for its high fuel efficiency and XL boot size. The car drives power from a 1.5-liter K9K diesel engine which produces minimal turbo lag. The hard wearing materials that form the base of the Verito make sure that the car rattles minimally as it ages. The interiors of the Verito are decent but they cannot be considered lavish or luxurious. The compact CS version of Verito will have all the attributes of original Verito except for the capacious boot.

Nothing has been speculated about the probable launch of this new car in India. A year ago Mahindra had annulled the Joint Venture with Renault and had also taken over the rights for independent development and sale of Logan in India. This rescission hampered the sales of Mahindra Verito but now with competitive pricing of Verito CS as it is hitting the compact sedan segment that enjoys lower duty than the full sized sedan, the company is expected to regain its sales.
