Mechanically, both the Celerio and Celerio X remain unchanged. They are powered by the same 1.0-litre petrol engine as before. This unit produces 68PS of power and 90Nm of torque and can be had with either a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT.
Unlike the Celerio X, the Celerio is also available with CNG fuel option. It is powered by the same 1.0-litre engine with an output of 59PS of power and 78Nm of torque. However, it is only available with the 5-speed manual.
While the addition of new safety features makes the Celerio twins compliant with the new safety norms, it remains to be seen if it will be able to pass the more stringent crash test norms that are set to come into effect from October 2019.
