The talks continued the whole night and prolonged today as well, without yielding any conclusive outcome. Sube Singh Yadav, president of the Suzuki Powertrain India Ltd (SPIL) employee union had reported that the management is not taking any prerogative to end the impasse. The talks remain to be unfruitful. In contrary to the company’s statements about the resumed work at the plant, Yadav said that operations at the plant have not begun. 8,000 workers from SPIL, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) including the Manesar and Gurgaon plants had called the strike on October 7th after they demanded on inducting the 1,100 contract workers and 44 suspended workers.

In response to the demand, the MSI management has clarified that they intend to reinstate the 1,100 contract worker once the production reached the normalcy. The SPIL is responsible to manufacture the components including the engines and the transmissions for the Gurgaon and Manesar plants. The production came to a standstill on the 14th and 15th of October due to the lack of component supply from SPIL. Nevertheless, the production started partially at the Manesar plant and full-swing at the Gurgaon plants since 16th October. The company share value is also reported to dip by 0.04% yesterday night according to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
