Japanese auto giant, Suzuki that launched the facelift version of its popular mass segment car the Alto (known as A-Star in India) in China, is now planning to launch the similar vehicle in the Indian market as well. Our close sources suggest that the A-Star facelift is likely to make its Indian debut in January 2013.
Nothing on the specifications have been disclosed by the MSI as of now, but there are possibilities that it might carry the similar 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine carried by the existing A-Star. Will it get the new five-speed automatic transmission like the Chinese version or continues with four-speed, is still a mystery.
The new A-Star/Alto has got some cosmetic changes both inside and out like the revised headlamps, fog lamps, grille, a new bumper, LED treatment for tail lamps, revised bumper, helping it become more sportier and aggressive in looks. So all these changes are expected in the Indian version as well.
Stay tuned to CarDekho for more updates on the same. Cheers!
