Japanese auto major, Suzuki that sells its mini MPV in some emerging markets including India and Indonesia, might soon bring in the automatic transmission variant of the similar vehicle. If speculations are to be believed, the company will soon launch the AT version of the car in the Indonesia markets, several Indonesia based dealers report.
Currently only the petrol variant of the Ertiga is available in Indonesia, which houses the 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine, and with the AT version, the sales of the already-doing-superb Ertiga would go even better. While the company is planning to launch the AT version in Indonesia, we can expect the vehicle to come in India as well, which is one of the largest markets for the Japanese giant in the world. And the car has already been selling over 7000 units a month on an average, so it will be a right decision for the company to offer one more option to its buyers. And if Ertiga comes in the AT version, it will be the first MPV to come in an automatic gearbox, yet another reason to take competitive edge over other players.
And adding an automatic transmission doesn't seem a tough task for MSI as it already offers the four-speed AT in Dzire, SX4 and A-Star in India. Stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the same. Cheers!
