Maruti to hire more employees for R&D division

Maruti India is planning to increase its head count in their R&D department by more than 20 per cent which counts to approximately 1500 personnels in the coming year. Maruti India is getting itself prepared to be one of the most dedicated firm with its research activities. They in took 102 new hirings in the fiscal year 2010-2011. To fund its research department, a Rs 2,500 crore investment has been done for a K-series engine plant and installing new R&D facility at Rohtak in Haryana.

Currently, Maruti India's R&D division is preparing to bring a new product for the Indian market. Prior to this, last year Maruti Suzuki India declared in their Annual report that they have plans to increase their manpower from 1,070 to approximately more than 13,00 in the fiscal year 2011-2012. The company earlier reportedly announced about their intake of at least 2,300 personnels, for their soon to be setup, two new plants in Manesar, in coming two years. This will increase head count nearly by 27 per cent.

The Annual report stated that an R&D hub for the Suzuki Motor Corporation shall be established by Maruti India enabling excellent engineering skills to manufacture cars for Indian and overseas customers. They are very much dedicated to innovate and develop fresh designs and advance functionalities in their upcoming cars. They also emphasized to stress on the making of new platforms rather than repeating their pre-existing platform. It can be expected that the Maruti India is dedicatedly working on making fresh Maruti cars rather than revising and face-lifting their older products.

Maruti Suzuki India is investing more than Rs 3,625 crore to install a plant accommodation of 2.5 lakh units of cars in their Manesar plant. It already has one plant in the same facility. The company experienced a decline in their exports last fiscal by around 6.31 per cent which figures to 1,38,266 units. The domestic sales of Maruti cars has although increased by 30.08 per cent which counts to be around 11,32,739 units last year.
