Maruti Vitara Brezza Unveiled at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo

Priced at an amazing Rs. 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the car is sure to be successful, given the features and styling it comes in. The DDiS200 diesel mill in the Brezza gives it a class leading fuel economy of 24.3kmpl and a 0 to 100kmph run of 13.3 seconds. It boasts many segment first features, both inside and outside the car. Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its highly anticipated Vitara Brezza - the compact SUV, at the ongoing 2016 Indian Auto Expo, being held in Greater Noida. The compact SUV will be on sale soon. Brezza is a brand new car from the bottom up and is the first one to be designed and developed by Suzuki’s Indian counterpart.

Speaking of design, the compact SUV flaunts brand new aesthetics, which includes a beautifully sculpted floating roof that sports a sloping roof line. Other aesthetic incorporations include - projectors headlamps with LED light guide, upright hood, angular taillamps, short overhangs, rounded rectangular wheel arches, rising beltline and high ground clearance. This is to say that all in all the SUV manages to exude a rugged, but premium appeal. The S-Cross chrome treatment can also be spotted on Brezza’s grille. Another highlight of the car’s aesthetic is the wraparound greenhouse, which helps Brezza stand out.

As far as its off-roading capabilities are concerned, Brezza comes with a ground clearance of 198mm. It rides on 215/60 cross-section R16 alloys.

The sheer delight similarly continues on the inside too, as the occupants are treated with Maruti's 7­inch SmartPlay infotainment system and Apple’s CarPlay. The steering wheel is quite reminiscent to the one seen in Baleno, Swift and Ciaz, though, it additionally incorporates cruise control, which is also shared with the S-Cross premium crossover.

Powering this beautiful compact SUV is a Fiat sourced 1.3-litre DDiS engine, which delivers a reasonable 90PS of power. For now, the company has resisted to reveal the details about the petrol engine, but it is highly anticipated that Swift's 1.2 litre petrol will be employed in the car later. The carmaker might also introduce a 1.0 litre turbo petrol in the automobile for enhanced power delivery figures. This particular selection of engine option comes as a courtesy of conformities implied by the sub-4 meter Compact SUV segment. Brezza will be made available at Maruti dealerships soon and will rival the likes of Mahindra's TUV300 and Ford's EcoSport, with a relatively competitive price tag.
