We compare diesel variants of the Venue against similarly priced variants of the Vitara Brezza to find out which offers better bang for your buck
Hyundai has launched the Venue with prices ranging between Rs 6.50 lakh and Rs 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available in a choice of five variants (E, S, SX, SX+, SX(O)) and three engine options -- one diesel and two petrol engines. If you are eyeing a diesel-powered Hyundai Venue you might want to compare it against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza to find out whether it offers more value than the Suzuki or not. So we place the Maruti SUV against the new Hyundai to find out which one offers better value for your money variant-by-variant.
Detailed Prices (ex-showroom Delhi)

For a fair comparison, we will be comparing the variants of each of these SUVs priced no more than the Rs 50,000 difference.

Verdict
The Hyundai Venue might be pricier by Rs 25,000 but gets additional convenience features. It gets a driver armrest with storage, steering-integrated audio controls, all of which would improve the daily drive coming in handy for the diesel drivers who engage in longer commutes. The Vitara Brezza with its cheaper price tag misses out on significant features that cannot be fitted post purchase.

What Vitara Brezza gets over Venue: Rain sensing wipers, rear center armrest with cupholders, 60:40 rear seat split, sunglass holder and push button start/stop with smart key.
Verdict
The Vitara Brezza takes brownie points here as it packs features which justify the Rs 15,000 premium it commands over the Venue. The Hyundai does pack a few features more than the Maruti but these won’t have much effect on your overall ownership experience.
