Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class Sport Editions Launched

Mercedes-Benz India has finally launched the Sport Editions of its flagship sedans the C-Class and the E-Class today in New Delhi at Rs 29.9 lakh and 39.9 lakh respectively. (Prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi) The Sport Edition of the C-Class 220 CDI and the E-Class 220 CDI Sport Edition was launched by Mr. Peter Honegg, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and Mr. Debashis Mitra, Director, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Peter Honegg, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “The degree of customization offered by Mercedes-Benz is unmatched by any other player in the segment. The launch of C-Class and E-Class Sport Edition is yet another step and a testimony to our quest to deliver products that offer distinctiveness, individualization and sportiness – characteristics that define Mercedes-Benz customers of present day.”
Mr. Debashis Mitra, Director, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India commented: “The Sport Edition of the C-Class and the E-Class sedans are highly exclusive products with AMG exterior styling, and host of other sporty features for which a Mercedes-Benz is renowned for. These launches are part of our product offensive in providing newer products and newer variants of existing products to our discerning customers. The launch timing of these cars coincides with the Indian Grand Prix fever which is soon going to grip the nation, especially after the tremendous success of last years race.”
Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sport Edition
The C-Class Sport Edition features the AMG Body styling with front and rear bumper aprons and side skirts adding to the aggressive and sporty look of the car, making it visually more dynamic. The 17-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels and the black painted roof with a SPORT badge add on to the sporty appeal of the C-Class Sport Edition. The C-Class Sport Edition comes with halogen lamp and fog lamps and is available in Polar White body color.
The C 220 CDI Sport Edition has also been endowed with a distinctive sporty look which spells out the opulence of the car’s interiors which gets Artico upholstery with a Black piano lacquer trim enhancing the feel of luxurious feel of the C-Cass Sport Edition. The car has electric seats adding to the comfort factor of the passengers and a THERMATIC automatic climate control further enhances the comfort factor. The entertainment system of the C-Class Sport Edition comes equipped with an Audio 20 with single CD player, with USB, Aux in and Bluetooth connectivity. The C-Class Sport Edition also gets mirror package. Rest other features stays the same as the earlier version of the C-Class.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sport Edition:
The E-Class Sport Edition’s aggressive looks owes to its AMG Body Styling that comprises the front and rear bumper aprons and sports side skirts. The new 18 inches 5 spoke light alloy wheels with the black painted roof and a SPORT badge makes the exterior of the E-Class Sport Edition more dynamic. The E-Class Sport Edition has halogen lamps, sports the stylish LED Day time driving light and comes with Direct Control Suspension resulting in a smoother ride quality. The E-Class Sport Edition will be available in Polar White.
The interior of the E-Class Sport Edition spells out sportiness and luxury with its artico upholstery and burr walnut wood trim. The mirror package and THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control adds on to the convenience of the passengers while the entertainment package comprises the Audio 20 with single CD player, with USB, Aux in and Bluetooth Connectivity. The E-Class Sport Edition is laden with a host of safety features including a PRE – SAFE, NECK Pro, Attention Assist and tire pressure loss warning system. The car has 6 Airbags with advanced safety features like Antilock Braking System, Brake Assist, and Electronic Stability Programme with Acceleration Skid Control (ASR).
The E-Class Sport Edition is equipped with a 7G TRONIC automatic transmission and its 4 cylinder 2143cc engine has a rated output of 170hp@3000-4200rpm and a rated torque of 400Nm @ 1400-2800rpm. The E-Class Sport Edition also uses fuel saving technology like ECO START STOP and the presence of Advanced Parking Guidance adds to the ease of parking the vehicle with convenience.
