Mahindra and Mahindra received an overwhelming response for its SUV, Mahindra XUV 500 and to cope up with this soaring demand, M&M is planning to amplify its production by March 2012. As per the senior VP of marketing of Mahindra and Mahindra, Mr. Vivek Nayer, the company is preparing to rev up the production of XUV 500 to about 3000 units every month, which sounds extremely exciting. The thought of ramping up the production of Mahindra XUV 500 at the Nasik manufacturing unit came after the awe-inspiring bookings of over 25000 units in the second stage. During the first one, M&M managed to grab bookings for more than 8000 units of this SUV. This raised production of the much appreciated Mahindra XUV 500, will cut down the long waiting period of 3 to 5 months, which was awful.
Mahindra and Mahindra seem to be in a great place these days. The firm launched the new and upgraded version of Mahindra Xylo, which was priced around Rs. 15000 higher than the previous ones. This new Mahindra Xylo has been developed and designed at a project that cost a whopping Rs. 50 crore. The top end variant of the new Mahindra Xylo has been bestowed with the powerful mHawk engine and the MPV has 5 variants, which are offered to the consumers. A complete makeover has been given to the very prominent Mahindra Xylo. A lot of change is seen in technology, interiors and exteriors of the car.
If figures are taken into account, Mahindra and Mahindra clutches around 27% of the market share in the MPV segment of Indian car market. With the new Mahindra Xylo in market accompanied with the news of ramping up the production of Mahindra XUV 500, the company is certainly in full swing right now.
