Nano catches fire again, Tata Motors

A newly purchased Tata Nano car which was on its way to be delivered in Vadodara, suddenly caught fire near Boriyavi village of the district here today, as per the local police statement. The incident took place when a fleet of around 11 Tata Nano's was on its way for being delivered to a Tata dealer in Ahmadabad. This is the second incident in recent days in which a Nano caught fire, as just a week ago a Newly delivered Tata Nano caught fire when its owner was driving it to home from nearest dealership in Pune.
As per the statement given by the police, a Tata Nano, which was in the middle of the fleet, started fuming from its rear portion and soon caught fire.
Reacting to the incident India's largest car maker, Tata Motors, said that one of its ultra-cheap Nano cars caught fire on Wednesday as it was driven to a dealer. According to a spokesman of the Tata Motors, the company is investigating the incident and it is sure that this is not a design flaw as Tata Nano has been manufactured after taking into consideration the all safety requirements.
Meanwhile Tata Motors has started manufacturing Tata Nano models at its newly established plant in Sanand (Gujarat). Company has to relocate its manufacturing facility from Singure (West Bengal) to Sanand due to a series of political agitations.
