BMW India is all set to launch its facelift version of 7-series luxury saloon in India on 25th April 2013. The company had unveiled the new BMW 7-Series at the Jodhupur One World Retreat, a Charity event. The event was basically a gathering of prominent personalities who had given their support to the Indian Head Injury foundation directed by the Maharaja Gaj Singh II of Jodhpur. The showcase was more of a brand building effort in the presence of people like Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, actress Dia Mirza, Industrialist Pawan Munjal and Socialite Suhel Seth and other distinguished personalities. The new 7-Series comes with fine tweaks and is basically a mid-life makeover for the car.

BMW 7 Series Facelift

The facelifted model of the BMW 7-Series now gets some styling changes both inside and out. The exterior of 7-Series now gets redesigned headlamps offered in a full LED trim, revamped front bumper and grille, and the wing mirrors of the new car get integrated turn indicators. The rear end too, gets redesigned tail lamps and newly styled bumpers. The interiors changes are basically done to make it more sophisticated and comfortable, and the cabin now gets new leather seats and a few more styling changes. However, the new 7-Series remains almost similar to the current version of the car. The new BMW 7-Series will be assembled in India at the company's Chennai assembly via the completely knocked down(CKD) kit route.

BMW 7 Series Facelift

The company hasn't changed the mechanics of the luxury saloon, and it will continue to be powered by the 3-litre inline six turbo diesel engine that produces 258bhp. The engine is paired to an 8 speed automatic transmission, which was earlier mated to a 7 speed transmission. The European version of 7-Series gets an all-wheel drive, however the India bound model will continue with the rear wheel drive option. For instance, the new BMW 7-Series is only available in diesel, while there is all the possibility that the company might bring powerful petrol version after sometime.
