Honda has unveiled the new 2014 Jade at the Shanghai Auto Show 2013. The Honda Jade is a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) based on the Honda's Concept S, which was first introduced at the Beijing Auto Show last year. According to the Japanese automaker, the Concept S is a global concept model, which was specially designed for the Chinese market. This clearly indicates that the Jade MPV will first go on sale in China and might be exported to other markets later.
The MPV complements the Honda's Concept S with its innovative styling, keeping the masses in mind. The front end of the new Jade comes with a smaller grill and gets a chrome insert under it. The headlamps styling and other design details of the front fascia of the MPV didn't look similar to the Concept S unveiled last year, however, the rear end of the car takes most of its styling cues from the concept model. According to the Honda, the Jade MPV was designed to match the needs of Chinese customers born in 1980s who are energetic and known for pursuing their dreams.
The Japanese auto-giant hasn't revealed much about the new Jade MPV, but the company cleared that the car would be manufactured at the Guangzhou-Honda JV and is scheduled to go on sale from Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. in September of this year.
