Nissan Sunny diesel might make it to India sooner than expected. Cardekho sources suggest that the diesel variant of Nissan Sunny is most likely to be launched right in this month. The Japanese auto major had launched the Nissan Sunny sedan in all petrol variant only few months back surprising many at the most economic price of Rs 5.78 lakh. Now, the market experts feel that Nissan Sunny diesel might be powered by the same Micra diesel engine sourced by Renault.

The 1.5 L K9K engine is the one on the cards to produce not something extraordinary, but a humble power and torque figures of 85 Bhp and 200 Nm. Rs 75,000-Rs 1 lakh difference in the Nissan Sunny price is expected between the petrol and the diesel variants as usual. Good fuel economy is also expected from this diesel car, not to disappoint the diesel car consumers. Quite strangely unlike Nissan NV200, a new MPV from the auto major which is expected to be introduced at the 2012 Auto Expo, the Nissan Sunny diesel launch is not slated for a January launch. Normally, the auto majors wait for a new year, to proceed with their new car launches.

However, Sunny diesel will launch this year itself bidding farewell to 2011. Unlike Nissan Micra’s case, the car maker has taken up a corrective measure this time and made one smart move while placing the price of the sedan. That said, Nissan Sunny now stands to be one of the cheapest sedan in the C segment cars and Nissan India will not push the Nissan Sunny diesel price high as well. All in all, the diesel driven Nissan Sunny might also be considered as a good value proposition in future.
