Nissan Sunny likely to be priced at Rs 6.8 lakh, launch slated for September 2011

Towards the last quarter this year all eyes would be on Nissan Sunny which is a V-Platform sedan. It is hoped that it would be among the Indian car lovers this September. The Nissan Sunny price is also expected to be between Rs 6.8 to Rs 7 lakh and as per initial information it would be available in 1.6 petrol and diesel variants. The basic crunch in the speculation for Nissan Sunny is its price. In order to set in competition with Honda City, Maruti SX4, Ford Fiesta and Fiat Linea cars, Nissan may price it below Rs7 lakhs. However, Nissan would certainly price its new car above its hatchback Nissan Micra in order to avoid any transgressing the price range.

The initial Nissan Sunny launch price would be sufficient enough to draw loads of customers towards the showrooms and the company believes that once the car is there customers will surely buy it due to its striking features which are otherwise available in high end models. Nissan Sunny features such as auto-folding mirrors, start-stop button, rear AC vents, beige interiors and climate control would certainly help the sedan become a hit in the Indian car market. Furthermore, Nissan Sunny is also expected to delay the introduction of the auto transmission option due to the mileage factors. Basically, Nissan wants to focus economy and price when its new Nissan Sunny is concerned.

However, with a ground already set by Hyundai Verna Fluidic car which is priced at Rs6.69 to Rs10.74 lakh that comes with astonishingly superb high end features, expectations with the Nissan Sunny would be high. It would not be an exaggeration that people would look for Hyundai Verna Fluidic features in Nissan. Besides, Maruti SX4, Ford Fiesta, Fiat Linea would also be its obvious competitors.
