Nissan unveils the Datsun brand, the Alliance to get Nano competition vehicle

Renault-Nissan’s big boss Mr Carlos Ghosn announced the Datsun brand in India and even unveiled the first Datsun model, called as the GO! This hatchback is based on the Nissan Micra and has got a severe cost-cut and localisation to match up with the competition.
Mr Ghosn also announced that the company is looking at introducing a vehicle in the A segment, which will be Nano competition. These vehicles will be based on the CMF-A platform and the first product from this will go on sale in 2015. Both Renault and Datsun could get a product under their umbrella from the CMF-A platform. Ashok Leyland also unveiled the Stile, an MPV from the commercial vehicle manufacturer that will share most of the bits with the existing Nissan Evalia.
Datsun's first vehicle will be called Go!
Datsun's first vehicle will be called the Go, naming it after the first Datsun's car model, the DAT-GO. Carlos Ghosn, the Renault-Nissan global head announced that the vehicle will be price below Rs 4 lakhs.The DAT in Datsun stands for Dream, Access and Trust. Read more
