Tata Motors is all set to launch the Bolt hatchback on 22nd of January, the bookings for the same has already started few days back for an amount of Rs. 11,000. As per the previous reports, Bolt was earlier launching on 20th of January but it has been now confirmed officially that it will launch on 22nd Jan 2015. Moreover, Bolt has already arrived at dealerships and is also being displayed at various malls.
Tata is expected to price Bolt aggressively, undercutting its arch rivals Swift & Elite i20
Talking about the features, like the Zest, Bolt sports similar dashboard layout and offers climate control; 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by Harman that features video playback from SD card, Aux and USB support, smart phone based navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition, in-built HVAC controls, and smartphone integration; and a new multi-function steering wheel.
Talking about the engines, like the Zest, Bolt also features Tata’s new 1.2-liter turbocharged Revotron petrol engine. The motor features segment first driving modes - Eco, Sport and Comfort and chucks out 90 PS of max power and 140 Nm of peak torque.
Moreover, similar to that of Swift, diesel trims of Bolt are getting the 75 PS version of Fiat’s Multi-Jet diesel engine dubbed as Quadrajet. The motor pumps out 75 PS and a peak torque of 190 Nm. Both the engines are mated to 5-speed manual gearbox, unlike the Zest, Tata is not offering F-Tronic AMT gearbox in Bolt, at least for now.
