Premier and Peugeot to come together again

Premier Automobile company dominated the Indian roads when there were not much of automobile available on the Indian shores. Now the auto giant enjoys a reputable name in the Indian auto sector. At present, the Indian auto giant earlier partnered with French auto giant Peugeot is planning to re-enter the Indian auto market. It is being learnt that the two auto giants are again planning to join hands and come again to capture the growing Indian auto market.
As per the industry reports, the Indian arm Premier will be introducing a new car which is expected to be launched in the compact SUV segment in the domestic auto market. Maitreya Doshi, CMD of the Premier said that everything is a raw statement. But right now the company is looking at this segment which does not have much competition.
The reports says that the Premier is planning to bring an all new SUV which is named as Premier Rio which was exhibited last year. The report also mentions that the auto company has already sold car model from the company's earlier assembly line to know the customers response on the car.
For now the new assembly line has been established at Chinchwad unit and the auto giant is getting ready for the production. It being known that Rio went through some of the changes with the response from the buyers. Mr Doshi said that the new car interiors has went through some of the changes which gives it a better look and feel. The Indian arm is also increasing on its dealership networks as well as spares and support team network, before the auto company can launch the compact SUV in the domestic auto market. Mr Doshi also declared that the auto giant is planning to increase the outlets bay 70 to 80 and by June it will be 100.
As per Doshi, the company is not big like others global players who are investing huge in the Indian auto market but will be following a “low risk strategy”. The company will invest Rs 150 crore for the new project. As per the report the compact SUV Rio will be a five seator which is assumed to be priced at Rs 5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh (ex showroom, Pune). Mr Doshi also said that the auto company is talking with its Chinese counterpart to introduce three to four cars in its existence portfolio.
