PSA Peugeot Citroen to soon hit the Indian shores

PSA Peugeot Citroen will enter the Indian auto sector earlier and faster than it was supposed to. Sometime back, Peugeot executives revealed that it has big plans for the Indian auto market. As per a reputed tabloid, the luxury car makers PSA Peugeot Citroen will disclose its Indian plans by next year. According to Philippe Varin, the Chief Executive officer in PSA Peugeot Citroen, the company will be in a position to announce its plans in the beginning of 2011 probably by January or February. The PSA Peugeot Citroen, the second biggest European car manufacturer showed interest to enter the domestic auto market via Mitsubishi Motors. But the plan could not materialize as the talks between the auto giants failed.

The European auto manufacturer, Peugeot, is already a known name in the Indian auto market, as it was in partnership with the Premier Automobile ltd. But Premier signed a pact with Fiat SpA later. Mr Varin said that, the premium car brand already has its presence in the Indian shores, so the company is not a neonate for this market.

PSA Peugeot Citroen is planning to enter the Indian auto sector in a big way. The company's arch rivals are already established in the Indian auto markets such as Toyota Motors, Volkswagen and Renault and are enjoying a major share of this second fastest growing domestic auto market. The overseas auto market especially the West, which holds major market for the PSA Peugeot Citroen is already exhausted. So the European luxury car markers is attracted towards the Indian auto sector to invest towards its growth. As per the reports, if the plans are executed well, PSA Citroen will invest 700 million euros to set up a manufacturing facility which will be affixed with the yearly installed capacity of almost 100,000 units. The luxury PSA Peugeot Citroen is at present looking forward for a land for its establishment. This brings good news for the luxury car lovers as they will soon get an opportunity to get a Peugeot Citroen in their porch which is best known for its technology and features in its hatchbacks and sub compact cars, in the coming years.
