Renault Duster crosses One lakh sales mark

Renault India Pvt. Ltd., subsidiary of the French auto major today made an announcement about achieving a milestone by clocking 1-lakh sales figure for the Duster.

Renault India is among the top five countries, which contribute significantly to the overall sales of Renault Duster world-wide. The Indian subsidiary achieved this landmark sales figure in less than two years and Duster is currently marketed in more than 100 countries.

On achieving this significant milestone Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO & M.D. Renault India said “Renault Duster has carved a niche for itself by creating a new segment and is the reference model within the segment. We at Renault are proud to reach this milestone of having crossed one lakh Duster sales and are happy that India is contributing significantly in the overall sales of Duster globally. We thank our customers for being the proud owners and helping for contributing Renault to reach this milestone in a record time.”

To celebrate the occasion, Renault India has decided to come up with ‘Duster 1 Lakh Limited Edition, which will be available in all Renault showrooms from June 2014. The limited edition Duster will be priced at INR 9.99 lakh and will be available in limited quantities only. Renault Duster was recognized by the J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2013 India Initial Quality Study (IQS) for its outstanding quality among 15 SUVs in the extremely crowded segment last year.  

Recently, Renault introduced the Gang of Dusters, a special initiative to bring together Duster owners. The initiative offers a great opportunity for like-minded enthusiasts to come together.

The Renault Duster comes with a 1.6-litre petrol engine which churns out 102 PS of max. power at 5850 RPM and 145 Nm of peak torque at 3750 RPM. This mill comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the diesel variants are powered by a 1.5-litre dCi engine, offered in two set of tunes – one producing 85 PS of power at 3750 and 200 Nm of torque at 1900, and the other outputs 110 PS at 3900 RPM and 248 Nm of peak torque at 2250 RPM. The former is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, returning 20.46 km/l, while the latter is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
