CarDekho has reported it sometime back that the French automobile giant, Renault is planning to bring in the 'Renault's Version of Nissan Sunny', which will have the similar V platform used in the Sunny and in the Micra. Today we bring to you some more information, which was confirmed by our sources at Renault India. The Renault's version of Nissan Sunny will be named as the Renault Scala, and will have some cosmetic changes on the bumper and the grille, making it more aggressive in looks.
Our sources further confirm that the Scala will be priced higher than that of the Micra for the sake of brand positioning within the Renault-Nissan alliance. Under the hood, it will be the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that churns out the maximum of 84.8 Brake horsepower, but the question which is yet to be confirmed is, whether the Scala will be launched in petrol avatar or not seeing the consumer's preference going more towards the diesel cars.
On the other hand, Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL), a 100 percent subsidiary of Nissan Motor Limited Japan too is planning to add the Renault's newly launched compact SUV, the Duster to its portfolio, however, the name has not been finalized yet.
Stay tuned for more updates on the same. Cheers!!
