Renault to mark its comeback in India with Renault Fluence

According to the current statistics, Indian auto market is standing at the top position when it comes to arrival of automobile giants across the globe. After witnessing a thumps up in FY 2010-11, Indian auto industry still holds the favorite tag for large number of car companies like Renault, Nissan, Volkswagen, General Motors etc.

As reported earlier, the masculine Renault Logan was unveiled in 2007 by Nissan - Renault Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn. After that with Mahindra alliance failing to derive the desired result, Renault forfeited the Logan brand. But Carlos Ghosn, Nissan-Renault's Chief Executive is ready to make a comeback once again with Renault Fluence (Sedan Segment) and Renault Koleos (SUV Segment). It is also expected that company is planning to set up whole new sales and service network.

Meanwhile, Mahindra also launched the Mahindra Logan with a new name “Mahindra Verito”. Reason being that Mahindra Logan's graph took a steep down slope after the spilt and it faced hard competition with the Tata Indigo and Maruti Swift Dzire cars. However, as the Mahindra Verito price is quite competitive compared to other cars present in the segment, expectation are going high this time.

Renault India Vice President Ashish Sinharoy said that launch of Mahindra Logan as the first Renault car in India didn’t work as expected but in other automobile markets across the globe it has worked well. He further added that the plain looks of Renault Logan added to its failure in Indian market.Sinharoy stated that Renault Logan worked as a good experience and all that will be used while launching Renault Fluence. He further added that Renault Fluence features are blend of the D segment cars (Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla) and E segment cars (Honda Accord, Toyota Camry). And with Renault Fluence price being still kept wrapped, speculation are spread all over the Indian car market.

As per reports, Renault is also planning to launch its crossover sports utility vehicle “Renault Koleos” and this invent will take on the Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota Fortuner. Sinharoy also added that both the cars will come packed with premium segment attributes but will hold less expensive price tag.
