Remember the Skoda’s small car Citigo, a rebadged version of the most talked about Volkswagen Up!? The Czech car manufacturer Skoda Motors is all set to launch the Skoda CitiGo in their home country Czech Republic before the end of this month. Apparently, Skoda Motors hopes to find the domestic consumers opinion or rather a feedback before making it to the other markets. Probably, that’s when Skoda India might also consider the small car launch in the Indian market as well. The Soda CitiGo exports are not expected anytime before June 2012.

It is basially a sub-four meter in length hatchback to fall more in the lines with Maruti Alto or Hyundai Eon in India with a similar Skoda CitiGo price if launched in India. However, the car is expected to come with more spacious interiors than Maruti Atlo. With the 3.56 m in length, 1.48 m in height and 1.65 m in width, it definitely has an edge over Maruti Atlo being considerably wider. The Skoda CitiGo scores high in terms of head room standing taller by around 65 mm, while a difference of whopping 175 mm in width explains the oodles of interior space. So, this makes Skoda CitiGo accommodate five passengers very comfortably.

Despite the budget price tag, the car is loaded with interior comforts. Skoda CitiGo is apparently a perfect example to show the Czech car manufacturer’s thoughtfulness in designing the interiors. The cup holders, a book holder behind the front passenger seat, storage pockets, bag hooks and photo holders have also been included in the tastefully decorated interiors. The car is uncompromised mechanically as well. Skoda CitiGo is offered with just a petrol motor under the hood with varied power outputs of 44 KW and 55 KW. Though there are no specific timelines about its launch, it would be nice to see Skoda India launch the small car in the country.
