Tata aggressively planning to save Nano

Tata Motors has started working on the firefighting plans for their popular car model Nano to save its image before its too late. This initiation has been taken after two of the Tata Nano models caught fire in merely one month period. For this, the company has formed a core team of its best engineers and technicians, which will identify the root cause for the fire and find a solution by the end of this month, a company official reportedly said.
While personally monitoring the case, company's chairman Ratan Tata has told the officials to make the vehicle more robust and sturdy on the road besides resolving the defects that caused fire, as reported a leading business news paper. The company is investigating into the incidents to pinpoint what may have led to those incidents, Tata's spokes man reportedly said. The core team is closely monitoring these incidents and studying every part of the car to find the exact cause.
According to Tata Motors, there are no issues with the design and technological aspects of the vehicle. The company has changed the supplier of the combination switch and also ran pre-emptive checks on all the Nanos, the company spokesperson said.
Till now Tata Motors has sold over than 30,000 Nanos in India. Company has started sale in the middle of last year and manufactures around 4,000 units from its facility in Pantnagar. Production at Tata's all-new facility in Sanand in Gujarat has also been started which will take its capacity to 2.5 lakh unit per year.
