Tata eyes expansion in Brazil & Indonesia with Tata Nano

The Indian auto major, Tata Motors has been in news for its plans towards expansion in the emerging car markets including China. Now, Tata Motors is reported to export its small car, Tata Nano to explore business opportunities in the other emerging markets like Brazil and Indonesia.

While Tata Motors had been rejoicing with its breakthrough in developing the world's cheapest car that was introduced in 2009, the small car had been the target of many negative implications of late. The car had been found with faulty engineering that resulted in quite a few fire accidents. The Tata engineers are now involved in mending the Electronic Control Unit, the updated unit is said to replace the existing one in the sold cars.

The software update has taken place in the ECU in form of Patch S18/19, which is expected to result in lesser wear and tear of the motor. Due to recent incidents encountered with the Tata Nano, the updated ECU installation has become imminent and many car makers are now considering the ECU updation in order to avoid such incidents.

The explanation for the possible wear and tear of the motor has been given, which implicates that, the users' unintentional misuse of the ignition key while the engine is in the running position is the reason behind the engine failure. It has been concluded that the wrong operation of the car has resulted in crippling the Nano engine. The Tata Nano had been reported catching fire in three instances recently. The first one was reported in Anand, Gujarat, while the second incident happened in Sri Lanka and the third was alleged to take place in Chennai.
