Tata Motors global sales heightens to 24% in September

Despite the slowdown in the car market, the Tata Motors global sales are said to improve by 24% against the corresponding period last year with 1,07, 258 unit sold. The cumulative sales of Tata Motors in the FY2011-2012 have apparently risen by 6% as compared to FY2010-2011 at 5,46, 645 unit sold. Plans of exporting its cheapest hatchback Tata Nano to oversees markets have also surfaced recently. The September reports show that the Global passenger sales of Tata Motors has increased by 12% with 55,539 units sale, while the cumulative sales have fallen by 4% accounting for just 238,168 unit sales.

The Tata Motors overall passenger sales across the globe including the Fiat car sales showcased in the Tata outlets recorded a 27,900 unit sales up by 5% in the month of September, this year over 2010 September. The cumulative sales, however, have suffered by 17% with 138, 048 unit sales. The sales of the Tata Motor’s British subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover have seen a tremendous growth in sales with 42% growth at 27,639 unit sales in the September 2011 over the last September. While the Jaguar has accounted for the growth with its sales by 14% with the sale of 5,525 units, the Land Rover sales have drastically increased with a whopping 51% due to 22,116 unit sales.

The commercial vehicles segment globally has seen a growth of 28% comprising of the sales of the vehicles from Tata, Tata Daewoo and Tata Hispano Carocerra range with 51, 719 unit sales. The cumulative sales of Tata Motors commercial vehicles has grown by 19% with 2,78, 507 unit sales in the FY2011-2012.
