Tata Motors’ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in October 2012 were 71,771 vehicles, higher by 6%, over October 2011. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for October 2012 were 68,145 units higher by 7%, over 63,837 units sold in October last year. Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal were 481,668 units, higher by 3%, over 467,669 units, sold last year.

The company’s sales of commercial vehicles in October 2012 in the domestic market were 47,026, a 21% growth, compared to 38,713 vehicles, sold in October last year. LCV sales were 34,905 units, a growth of 59%, compared to 21,890 vehicles sold in October last year. M&HCV sales stood at 12,121 units, lower by 28%, compared to 16,823 vehicles sold in October last year. Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were 298,532 units, a growth of 6% over last year. Cumulative LCV sales were 208,715 units, a growth of 24% over last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 89,817 units, lower by 21%, over last year.

Sales of passenger vehicles for October 2012 were at 21,119 units, lower by 16%, over 25,124 units, sold in October last year. There has been encouraging response to the Tata Manza Club Class and the Tata Safari Storme. Sales of the Tata Nano were 4,004 units, higher by 4%, compared to 3,868 units, sold in October last year. The Indica range sales were 6,692 units, lower by 38%, over 10,812 units, sold in October last year. The Indigo range recorded sales of 5,748 units, lower by 8%, over 6,268 units, sold in October last year.

The Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture range sales were 4,675 units, higher by 12%, over 4,176 units, sold in October last year. Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles were 151,761 units, higher by 1%, compared to 150,572 units, sold till October last year. Cumulative sales of the Nano were at 43,627 units, higher by 31%, over 33,245 units, sold till October last year. Cumulative sales of the Indica range were at 48,783 units, lower by 6%, over last year.  Cumulative sales of the Indigo family were 29,623 units, lower by 23%, over last year. Cumulative sales of the Sumo Safari Aria and Venture range were 29,728 units, higher by 11%, over last year.

The company's sales from exports at 3,626 vehicles in October 2012 were lower by 13%, compared to 4,171 vehicles, in October last year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal were 31,375 units, lower by 11%, over 35,249 units, sold in the same period last year.
